Cherry Blossom Time

We headed down to Macon on Thursday of last week to visit Granny and Grandpa for the Cherry Blossom Festival. The weather couldn't have been more perfect and the Cherry Blossom trees looked beautiful. The rest of the family didn't come into town until late Friday and so my mom and I took the twins to Central City Park on Friday morning to enjoy the festivities. It was our first time visiting this section of the festival. They had a petting zoo for where Gracie and Bailey were able to feed the animals. Two baby sheep had just been born three days ago and they had been named "Cherry" and "Blossom." After the petting Zoo the twins enjoyed playing in the "Cherry Blossom Train." They were so excited when they saw all of the rides as it was just like a "mini fair." Gracie and Bailey barely hit the height mark to be able to ride the rides but they did and they had a blast. They had so much fun that their Daddy took them back the next day while I enjoyed going to the Arts and Crafts Fair. While at the fair I bought an adorable handmade GA dress for Gracie, a new collar for Dixie and a cute bulletin board for twins room. All the family and cousins came over for a Barbecue that evening. We also enjoyed a great date night with all 3 of my sisters and their husbands. Granny and Grandpa have gotten to be champs at keeping all 7 grand kids! The Cherry Blossom Festival has always been one of my favorite weekends but now it is even more fun that Gracie and Bailey can join into the tradition!

Our Day at the Zoo

This past weekend my sister Mary Ellen invited us to go to the Atlanta Zoo with Andy and Lauren. Gracie and Bailey were so excited to spend the day with their big cousins. They had never gotten to "feed" the birds before and it was one of their favorite activities while at the Zoo. Bailey watched his big cousin, Andy pet a snake and he was so brave to pet the snake just like Andy. Needless to say, Gracie and I stayed far away from the snake! Gracie and Bailey loved the petting zoo where they brushed all the animals. Bailey would brush each one and then say "now you are ready for school!" A trip to the Zoo couldn't be complete without rides on the carousel and choo choo train. I was so proud of Gracie and Bailey for walking on their own for the entire day, yep no strollers! They proved to be big kids while hanging out with their cousins.

Spring Love

The weather has been beautiful lately and Gracie and Bailey have been loving being able to play outside. They seem to have so much fun with each other and they usually get along great. I am finding that my days have gotten easier as I am now able to say "go outside and play." We are blessed with a wonderful fenced in back yard. Their typical routine when they get home from school is to have a picnic snack outside and then play on their playground. Sometimes I even get a little jealous as I feel like they really don't "need me as much because they have each other" but then I quickly remember that the time allows me to get done with much needed chores. I LOVE watching Gracie and Bailey play make believe together and I hope that they will always stay as close as they are now. They are truly best friends and their love is so sweet and precious to watch. I am BLESSED beyond words by my two little miracles!
