Happy Birthday Daddy

Today we celebrated Preston's Birthday  by taking taking a little field trip to the Sweet Water Brewery in Atlanta. I am not a big beer dinker but I thought that I would sacrifice and join in on the fun in honor of his Birthday. Gracie and Bailey surprised him with Birthday gifts that morning. Bailey gave Daddy a cologne set that came with a big bottle and a little travel size bottle which he thought was just for him. He was so excited for Daddy to open the matching cologne set. Bailey puts on his cologne every morning before going to school and if he forgets it then he always reminds me before we walk out the door. Gracie picked out a new book for Daddy to enjoy.

Big Cousins to Baby Parker

On January 24th, Gracie and Bailey became big cousins to Robert Parker McFarland III. We were all so excited to welcome him to the family. He came a few weeks early but was healthy and strong. I was so excited to make it to the hospital with Kara and Daddy Bob just in time to watch little Parker being wheeled out the OR from the c section. There is something so fun about being present at the birth of a new little one. He has a head of hair and is such a cute little fellow. Bailey is so excited that he finally has a little boy cousin to share all of his trains and dinosaurs with. It is amazing to watch our family grow and we are blessed with this little gift from above.

Goggles and Rainboots

I just had to add this sweet picture of my Bailey so I will always remember his "rain boots and goggles" phase. For about a week Bailey refused to leave the house without his rain boots and goggles and they went everywhere that we went. We had to have a serious talk about how it was not ok to wear rain boots and goggles to school on a daily basis because of how they interfere with his learning and playing on the playground. He finally settled on just wearing the rain boots on rainy days but it took alot of persuasion. Bailey is so funny with his attire as he also loves shorts and sandals. I have never seen another kids so obsessed about wearing shorts and sandals. When he gets home from school the first thing that he always requests to do is to change into shorts. Each morning he asks me if it is Spring yet and if he can wear his shorts and sandals today. He has always been a hot natured boy but I find it funny how he finds so much joy in wearing shorts and sandals. Hopefully it will not be too much longer until I can finally say that it is warm enough to wear them!

New Year Celebration

Happy New Year!

This New Year we drove back from celebrating Christmas in Macon and we headed over to my friend, Katie's house to celebrate. We made home made pizza and the kids played and celebrated with cupcakes for dessert. We headed home before the stroke of midnight to of course get our little ones in bed. I love the picture above because it kind of summarizes my feelings about celebrating New Years this year. I didn't really make any New Years intentions this year and instead I just chose to be thankful for all of our many blessings. It is not that I think we are doing everything perfectly or that we don't have any new goals to work on but sometimes we get bogged down in the midst of always trying to do better, be better or have more and  I feel like we forget to just simply be thankful. I am blessed with a wonderful husband, two precious little ones, a home and the ability to stay home with my little ones. This year my motto is to just kind of "have my cake and eat it too!" Isn't that why God has given me all of these wonderful things...to simply enjoy! Happy New Year to my friends and family and thanks for taking time to read our blog.
