Granny's Thanksgiving

As most of you know we always celebrate Thanksgiving early in Macon and it allows all of us girls "the four Miller girls" to spend the holiday with our husband's families. I think Thanksgiving gets bigger and bigger in Macon each year. My mom sends out a beautiful formal invitation. Events of the weekend include going to the Christmas in the South Craft Show, a cornhole tournament, wine tasting, bunco playing and of course Thanksgiving dinner. We had relatives come all the way from Missouri and Florida to attend. I lost count at the number of family and friends but I do know that we consumed about 40 pounds of turkey, a ham and a chickfila tray which is alot of meat! We all were excited to have baby Isabella with us this year. She was the cutest little turkey ever and I loved snuggling with her. Granny surprised all the little ones with a special delivery on Saturday morning. She had a gigantic bouncy house delivered and it kept all the cousins busy and out of the kitchen. The weekend always confuses me a little bit because I get home and think that we have already had Thanksgiving but Preston quickly reminds me that the real holiday is still yet to come. I am so glad that we were able to celebrate with family and we look forward to more Thanksgiving festivities as we pause to celebrate all of our many blessings.

Cheez-it for Froggie ?

Today was a normal day and I had just gotten home from picking the twins up from school. I was preparing a snack for them and I had opened the back door to get them to go out to play as it was a beautiful day. If I recall correctly, I was unloading the dishwasher and trying to prepare a snack all at the same time. Bailey came in and said..."mommy can I have a cheez-it to feed my froggie?" I just kind of dismissed his comment as it seemed a little silly. About two minutes later I have finished the dishes and I am pouring juice and Bailey comes in again and say "froggie hungry mommy, froggie hungry." I poured the juice and told Bailey that I would come out to see his pretend froggie. I went outside and set our snacks on the table and I asked Bailey to introduce me to his froggie. Well....I was a little shocked when he pointed to his real frog that he had caught. I couldn't believe this green guy with sticky toes that was staring back at me and I looked at Bailey in amazement. He simply said "can froggy have a cheez-it now?" We talked about how frogs do not eat human food and used the froggie to talk about their environment for a little bit before I asked the twins if they thought froggie missed his mommy. They both agreed that he did and so they helped me to release him into the wild. It was a fun lesson that was completely unplanned. I now will give my little buddy more credit when he asks for snack requests for his "friends." Here is the picture to prove it!

My Little Gymnasts

Today we started our first "big kid" gymnastics class. We took gymnastics when we were 18months but that was with a "mommy and me" class. This class is held at a real gym and mommy sits on the sidelines! Gracie was so excited to wear one of her hand-me-down leotards from her big cousins. Mrs. Angie is the teacher and she is one of our friends from church and so she was already familiar with the twins. We had so much fun tumbling, jumping and trying new things like the bars. At the end of class the twins actually got upset because they said that they wanted to stay and do more gymnastics. I can't wait to post more pics as we learn more fun skills in our class.
