Puppy Dog Halloween

This Halloween I had no clue of what the twins would want to be for Halloween. Every time I asked them they would say a different answer. I went to the consignment store to look for their costumes and I told Preston that I would call and give them the options as to what they wanted me to bring home. Preston had talked me into allowing them to be "independent" and not making them dress up cutely themed as a twin pair...this broke my heart but I agreed. When I called home from the store and gave the options I was SO EXCITED when they both said that they wanted to be puppy dogs. They still matched and they turned out so adorable. Bailey's beloved lovie has a puppy dog on it and so he has always loved puppy dogs and Gracie is all about anything pink and fluffy! We had a blast on Halloween night as we invited Grammy, Daddy Bob, Cousin Mary Elizabeth and Zach's family over to celebrate. We enjoyed pizza and yummy cupcakes before heading out to trick or treat. At the first house the twins buddy, Zach decided to walk right in the house after they answered the door and so of course Gracie and Bailey decided to follow. We had to stop and do a little trick or treat "lesson" on how we stay on the step and we don't walk into the homes. We made it about one third of the way through the neighborhood before my little puppy dogs became exhausted. I think they had just as much fun answering our door at home as they did Trick or Treating. I loved watching my puppies enjoy the night filled with friends, family and fun!

Chilly Hayride

This past week I was able to accompany Gracie and Bailey's class on a field trip to Kinsey Family Farm. We arrived at the farm at 10am and it was so cold and chilly. I wished that I would have packed more cold weather attire like gloves and hats because my little ones looked...well to say the least kind of miserable. If it would not have been a school function then we probably would have chosen to bypass it but we decided to be "good sports" and make the best of it. Even though the weather was frightful the twins seemed to enjoy the bouncy hayride. While on the hayride we stopped to feed the fish. After the hayride we listened to a pumpkin story and then planted a tree. Bailey kept asking where all the apple trees were as he was a little confused that we were at a Christmas tree farm. Their little red noses and wind blown hair in the pictures will always remind us of this cold field trip with friends.

Pumpkins at Church

Just recently we started going to a new church. The name of our new church is Mountain Lake Church. We have no complaints about the church we used to attend but Preston and I felt like we just needed a change. We love that Mountain Lake has many family activities where we can mix and mingle with other members. Preston and I joined a small group as a commitment to joining the new church. We hesitated after having the twins to join a group as childcare was always a worry. Our group works out great as childcare is provided during the group. We have group at one house and we all split the fee of an "on location" babysitter. Gracie and Bailey have enjoyed meeting their new friends in our life group and in their Sunday school class. I love hanging out after church and enjoying the activities instead of trying to beat the traffic in the parking lot. One of the church activities that we just attended was the Pumpkin Patch at church. We had a great time picking out a family Pumpkin that was just right! At the event we were excited to meet and talk with our new pastor and his wife. We have felt like "home" at our new church and look forward to many more fun Sundays.

Two for One

One of the things that I love the most about our fair is that it is affordable. Each year the hospital sponsors the fair on Saturday morning at it is free admission and free rides for one hour. After the first hour it is "two for one" rides where one child gives tickets and another rides for free. I heard some parents with only one child complaining about the deal not being as effective for them but for our family it worked out perfect as we always have riding companions! We did not have to worry about height requirements this year as the twins were tall enough to ride all of the kids rides. The weather was beautiful and we could have asked for a more fun day. We had so much fun that we returned with our cousins who came from out of town for the next Saturday. We sat down for lunch at the fair as Preston had gotten the twins a hotdog to share and a corndog for himself. Bailey noticed that his buddy Zach had a corndog so he decided that he wanted that instead. Poor Preston was in line getting our drinks and when he returned he found that our little buddy had eaten half of his corndog! Bailey enjoyed his yummy corndog and Gracie's favorite part of the fair was feeding the baby bunnies and goats. Preston and I were very thankful that we were able to have a fun day without breaking the bank!

Bulldawg Family

The Fall is here and that means that it is football time for this family. We sort of have a new definition of football time as it used to mean tailgating and going to all the games. Now football time means hoping that games fall during nap time and dressing up our little ones in celebration of the bulldawgs playing. We usually just watch the games at home or at Grammy's house and of course we always enjoy yummy tailgating treats. Gracie and Bailey enjoy cheering along during the games and Daddy enjoys reading their GA Football book on the nights before games. We look forward to taking them to a game soon but I still think they are a little too young to find enjoyment in actually going into the game as I want it to be a "fun first time event."Whether the Bulldawgs win or loose we always have fun celebrating and cheering them on as a family.
