My sister, Mary Ellen invited Gracie and Bailey to attend a local Trunk or Treat event with their cousins Lauren and Andy. Trunk or Treating is when a community gets together and decorates their parked cars in different themes and each car gives out treats.Gracie and Bailey did not remember trick or treating from last year but they are definitely old enough and smart enough to understand the concept. Bailey has been asking to go trick or treating ever since I put out our Fall decorations. At first they were really shy and whispered "trick or treat" and they very modestly would put their hand in the bucket to take a piece of candy. After we met up with their cousins, Lauren was very sweet to volunteer to assist the twins and she would get their candy for them and put it in their bags. By the end of the night both of them were running to the next car and digging a whole handful of candy out and of course following with a polite "thank you." When we were done Trick or Trunking then we visited a fire truck that was parked close by. The fire fighters were so nice to let Gracie and Bailey go inside the truck, which I was shocked when they both went right in. Bailey's eyes were huge and when we walked up to the truck he said "humongous!" We let the twins each have two pieces of candy and I loved seeing Bailey's expression when he discovered the chocolate all over his hands. Tonight was great practice for our future trick or treating and it was lots of fun spending time with Lauren and Andy.
