Our First Dental Appointment
Today the twins had their first dental appointment. I had a recommendation from some friends for a pediatric dentist and so I made an appointment as this was the first year that we added Gracie and Bailey to our dental plan. A couple of weeks ago I had my dental appointment and the twins were very excited to examine my bag of goodies that I brought home. The bag included the typical tooth bush, toothpaste and dental floss. We started talking to them about the dentist and even practiced for the appointment at night while brushing their teeth. Even though we had practiced and talked about it, I still was not sure how they would do but they did beautifully! They both were so brave. Before the appointment started the dentist consulted with me and told me that most kids at this age just tour the office and look at the equipment and that he didn't want me to have high expectations for how much we would get done. The twins did great and allowed him to fully count and inspect their teeth in addition to brushing and flossing them. I am so glad that I made the decision to go with a pediatric dentist as it really helped to make their first visit friendly and fun. The office was full of Disney movies playing in the background, stickers and kid friendly activities. I was one happy momma to have conquered this first time appointment!

Family Hike
This past weekend the weather finally cleared up to make a beautiful day on Sunday. After going to church we packed a picnic and headed to Sawnee Mountain in Cumming for a family hike. Preston and I were not sure how the twins would do on the hike but they really surprised up. The hike up the mountain is about one mile. They both did great going up the mountain and they were so excited when we made it to the very top. At the top of the mountain there are lots of big rocks to sit on so they loved sitting and enjoying a snack while looking at the view. Bailey thought it was funny that we were "above where the birds were flying." While at the top Gracie commented "look I can see God from here." It was fun talking about all the things we could "and couldn't" see from the top of the mountain. On the way down the mountain Bailey discovered a furry caterpillar that we stopped to play with for a little bit. Gracie decided to take a piggy back ride on my back for the way down and she told me "only girls get carried." Bailey was a trooper as he ran/walked the entire hike up and down the mountain.

Brownies for Bailey
Bailey came home from school one day and talked about how one of his class mates mom's brought brownies to school for a Birthday celebration. Bailey asked me "Mom can we make Brownies one day?" How on earth could I say no to my sweet little boy? I stopped while they were at school and bought the brownie mix and when I picked him up I told him that I had a special surprise waiting on him at the house. When we ran in the house and saw the Brownie box on the counter he was was so excited, you would have thought that he had won the lottery or something. Gracie and Bailey had a blast helping with each part of the process which I made as long as possible in order to fill up our day. We reviewed the letters on the outside of the box, counted the number of ingredients and talked about the importance of following directions. My Bailey is a huge chocoholic so he could hardly wait to sample our yummy creation and they were delicious. I love making my babies day special by simply fulfilling a small request.

Valentine's Day Morning
Valentine's Day Morning 2013
I just had to add these sweet pictures of our little ones opening up their Valentines Day surprises. Yes, you may call them spoiled but we like to celebrate every holiday in our home and what is more important then to celebrate our love for one another. Preston purchased his very own gifts for the twins which I thought was super sweet. I picked out red buckets that were filled with lots of fun items from the dollar store which they loved. We are very blessed to have Gracie and Bailey to love on each and every day.

Valentine Date Night
Valentine Date Night 2013!
This year we decided that the twins were old enough to enjoy their very own Valentine Date night. Daddy asked his sweet Gracie out for a date and I asked my handsome Bailey if he would accompany me on a date. We asked the twins where they wanted to go for their special dates and Gracie said "California" and Bailey said "Candy Land." I helped Gracie get all dolled up for her big night. We curled her hair, painted her nails, and picked out the perfect accessories for her dress. She was so excited to wait at the door for her Daddy to pick her up. Bailey was not into the getting ready part but he enjoyed being silly in the pictures. Daddy ended up taking his little princess to Chick Fil a and then to the candy store. Bailey and I went to Steak and Shake where he enjoyed a hot dog and an ice cream cookie sundae. Everyone had fun on their dates and we are going to try to do this more on a monthly basis...not so much the spoiling parts but more the intentional one on one time. Flowers and candy are no comparison to enjoying a night out with my sweet little Bailey!

Little Monkeys at the Gym
Gracie and Bailey just finished their second six week gymnastics class and they have been loving learning all their new skills. Each week Mrs. Angie teaches the class something new from the balance beam, bars, rings, trampoline and the list goes on. I am amazed at how well they listen during the class and how well they follow the directions. Sometimes I wish that I could bring Mrs. Angie home with me. The class has taught them to be brave, has helped with their balance and has been great for learning to work with others. Their team name is Tumble Tigers 1. We are very excited to start our third class and look forward to all the fun activities that are in store for my little gym monkeys.

Valentine for Preschool Door
Gracie and Bailey were sent home a homework assignment and it was to decorate a red heart in order for it to be posted on the door of their preschool class room. The directions said that they could color it, put stickers or pictures on it and that it should represent them. Since we were stuck inside due to the cold weather I decided we would make a day of their homework assignment and we played dress up in order to get some fun pictures to glue on the Valentine. Gracie chose to dress up as a princess and Bailey was a pirate. We dressed up one at a time so they each received their own individual attention during our photo shoot. They had so much fun and their pictures turned out adorable.

First Time Bowling
During these cold Winter days it is hard to find activities to keep the twins busy and active. We were excited to meet my sister and her family for a fun night at Dave in Busters. The twins call it an "adult Chuck e Cheese" and they love it. They played the arcade games and loved following their big cousins; Lauren and Andy. After playing games we decided to bowl for the twins very first time. I have to say that their tiny little bowling shoes were the cutest things that I have ever seen and I kind of wanted to buy them just because they were so cute. Gracie and Bailey looked little while holding the big balls and they each tried to pick up the heaviest one they could find. They loved bowling and had a blast taking their turn. Preston and I were excited to find something new that we can enjoy together as a family. Our little ones are getting so big now that they can enjoy big kid activities.
